Our community
Terry Fox E.S. is located in the residential community of Convent Glen North, which borders on the eastern rim of the N.C.C. Greenbelt and the Ottawa River. There is a thriving bilingual atmosphere in the community. Parks and parkland are abundant in the neighbourhood and an enormous variety of sporting, recreational, artistic, and educational activities for all age groups is offered locally.
Parent volunteers are welcome partners in our school community, and their contributions directly support curriculum initiatives, including field trips and sports events, as well as enhancing cultural events. Our bi-weekly hot lunch program which is also run by parents is appreciated and enjoyed by our students.
The Terry Fox School Council strives to develop a strong relationship between home, school, and the wider community served by the school in order to help each student develop to his or her full potential. The School Council stays current with changes to education and keeps parents informed. The Council works with the staff to promote a positive school climate and encourages school spirit through fundraising events. Over the past few years, Terry Fox Council has been instrumental in improving the playground, enhancing classrooms with technology, and enriching student learning in the area of the Arts.
